📜 Milestones in Our History
🏨 Hotel Post, Sargans – The Cradle of the Group
The Hotel Post is our parent house and the foundation of our group today.
-
1968: Purchased and significantly expanded by Alfred and Elsa Kunz.
-
1990: Peter Kunz took over leadership in the second generation. A major hotel extension was built, equipping the house for the future.
-
2018: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Kunz family, Rico Kunz took over the business in the third generation. Today, the passion for gastronomy is as vibrant as ever—and the fourth generation is already proudly helping out in the business.
-
🏔️ Hotel Post Glarnerhof – The Tradition-Rich Newcomer
In January 2024, we opened a new, major chapter: the purchase of the historic Glarnerhof.
-
Located directly by the train station in the heart of Glarus.
-
Out of deep respect for the building's history, the traditional "Glarnerhof" lettering was intentionally maintained in our new logo.
-
We invested over two million Swiss francs to modernize the establishment, bringing 36 rooms and bathrooms up to a contemporary four-star standard.
-
Beyond new designs and a new restaurant concept, we offer tailored solutions for travelers, including optimized infrastructure to guarantee high-quality, fast "60-minute lunches" for bus tour groups.
-
🛏️ Schweizerhof, Mels – The Uncomplicated B&B
To perfectly round off our portfolio and position ourselves strongly in the segment for flexible short stays, we acquired the Schweizerhof in Mels in 2025. It is operated as a modern Bed & Breakfast (B&B), offering guests uncomplicated comfort in a warm atmosphere.
